Summer Intern Program 2026

The Contra Costa County Superior Court is pleased to announce that applications are now open for its Summer Intern Program for 2026, which will run from June 8 through July 31, 2026.  This program offers first-year law students (1Ls, rising 2Ls) the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working directly with members of the bench.  Interns will observe active court calendars and serve as legal researchers for judges in their assigned divisions, contributing to the adjudicatory process through tasks such as drafting objective memoranda and preparing tentative rulings.  Participants will also take part in educational seminars and field visits throughout the summer.

The program seeks highly motivated, self-starting students who excel in analytical reasoning and legal writing.  Applicants must complete an online application and submit a resume, cover letter, writing sample, current law school transcripts, and letters of recommendation.  An evaluation committee will review submissions, and selected candidates will be invited to interview in late January or early February 2026.

For more information and to apply, visit Law Student Intern.
