Reminder

The court will send a reminder notice to the address listed on the citation, along with:

  • Your due date and time
  • How much you owe
  • Whether you can go to traffic school
  • Any proof of correction you might need
  • Options on how to handle your citation

You must take care of your traffic ticket on time - even if you do not get a reminder notice.

Failure to Appear or Pay

If you do not take care of your traffic ticket by the date shown on the reminder notice:

  • You may be assessed a civil assessment fee of up to $100
  • Your case may be referred to the court's collection agency: Linebarger.

If you get a notice telling you that a civil assessment fee has been added, it means you did not take action by the due date and/or you did not pay the fine.

If a civil assessment has been added to your case pursuant to penal code 1214.1(b)(1), you can request the court to consider your good cause to vacate the added fee. You can do this by petition (TR-125), that can be found at the link below or at the Traffic Clerk’s Office and can be submitted by mail or in person to the court indicated on the citation.
