Background Information

It is the courthouse for the former Delta Judicial District – the East County -- and serves the communities of Antioch, Bay Point, Bethel Island, Brentwood, Byron, Discovery Bay, Knightsen, Oakley and Pittsburg.

Entrance/Security

There is only one entrance to the courthouse and this is accessible for people with disabilities. As in most court buildings, anyone entering the building must go through a security check.

Matters heard at the Richard E. Arnason Justice Center

There are seven courtrooms in Pittsburg. Cases heard here include family law, small claims, civil-unlawful detainers, criminal and traffic proceedings. Some domestic violence and juvenile matters may also be heard.

Jury Assembly Room

The Jury Assembly Room in Pittsburg has snack and beverage vending machines, filtered hot and cold water, and a lactation room. While jurors are waiting to be selected they are afforded a scenic view of Mt. Diablo.
